Weekend retreat

I had a great weekend retreating with my "Crackpot" friends there was only 6 of us there this time  one of our group was enjoying the sun in Fiji and the other recovering from an operation.
I managed to get a few things finished made 2 quilts exactly the same one was for my new great nephew who lives in Korea  to remind him of his NZ heritage. The other is a shop sample showing what you can make from the ABC panel.

This weekend was also when our yearly challenge was due most of us were finishing them over the weekend of course there was someone who had made hers just after the challenge had been set earlier in the year,
My Row

Everyone's rows side on a design wall. We think we would like to give this quilt to Ronald McDonald house.
My name was drawn out of the hat to set our next years challenge so now I have my thinking cap on.

Back Again

It is about time I kept my blog up to date. The last few months I have been working on an entry for the New Zealand Quilting symposium. This year they did not want the exhibition entries to be shown on blogs or any social media. As usual I under estimated the time it would take me to complete the quilt. But I made the deadline and my entry form has been posted off.

There has been a little progress on my Love Entwined top

I also managed to complete an entry for my local quilt guild the challenge this year was a portrait as the exhibition was held in the Wellington Portrait Gallery. I started this in a class with Jocelyn Leith.
I was fortunate to win a Merit Prize. I got a voucher to spend at the quilt shop where I work which I thought was funny,

I have given into the Lucy Boston craze this is my first completed block I have a few others on the go as well. Hopefully I can make this quilt from my stash as I have a lot of reproduction fabrics just not a lot suitable for fussy cutting.
